I am a private-pay therapist who uses Thrizer for out-of-network benefits.
My full fee rate for therapy is as follows:
Individual 50-minute therapy session: $200
Couples/Family/Partnership therapy session: $230
I hold 2 sliding-scale slots in my caseload for clients; contact me about sliding-scale availability.
I am an Out-Of-Network Provider. This means I will not be in network with your insurance plan; however, this doesn’t mean you can’t use your insurance benefits in order to work with me.
I partner with Thrizer, which is a service that allows you to utilize your out-of-network benefits and get the most out of private therapy. Depending on your insurance plan, you may not actually pay the full fee for therapy, and your cost per session could be reduced significantly.
Through Thrizer, you can check your estimated out-of-network benefits, see an estimated session cost, pay for sessions, and have eligible out-of-network claims submitted for you. If your plan reimburses for out-of-network care, reimbursement is determined by your insurance after the claim is processed. If you are eligible, you may also have the option to pay an estimated upfront amount instead of paying my full session fee and waiting for reimbursement.
Below is a free calculator that will let you know what your estimated cost for therapy with me could look like. We can discuss the payment process and setup in your free consultation.
* Note: I am opted out of Medicare; if you want to work with me, you will not be able to utilize out-of-network benefits under your plan.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services.
You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
