About

Helping clients with relationship anxiety create lasting love.

Hi! I'm Owen (they/them)

I believe that lots of mental health education and systems are based in Western and individualistic ideals that leave out the important part: Community and Connection. I work with clients who are struggling to balance all the expectations of their identities with the raw, unfiltered parts of us that thrive with love and relationships. My clients struggle with feeling like a burden and need help getting over the discomfort that is the inconveniencing nature of the love and care they crave. I do this through a combination of Exposure Therapy for relationship OCD and severe social anxiety. I also utilize ACT with various couples therapy and relational techniques, where clients can actually see and measure results rather than hope things are progressing in therapy. Many clients have done the talk therapy route, but are still stuck because processing and changing are two different things. I’m the kind of therapist who is change-forward. Therapy with me is challenging but is rewarding and is meant for those who are ready for that next push that they didn’t get in previous therapy.

I’ve spent most of my life outside the United States before moving to California when I was 16. I’m half Chinese-Burmese and half White, and man, did that create such dissonance in figuring out who I was. Add in my nonbinary and bisexual identities; I really had no idea what it meant to find my place. It took trial and error to find therapy that was long-lasting and actually useful for what I wanted the most in life: Belonging

I help individuals, partnerships, and families explore what it means to live authentically and collaboratively. I work from a direct approach that cuts through the spirals of anxiety and challenges you to really be true to what you want. I’ll meet you with compassion, humor, and a deep respect for who you are.

My approach is systemic, relational, and rooted in the belief that healing happens when we feel truly seen.

I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University and have received training in ERP, Sex Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. I utilize a combination of different modalities based on client receptivity and preference.

I was raised in 5 countries: Australia, Zambia, United States, China and Singapore and come from a mixed culture family. I have the unique outlook of how people develop their sense of identity and understanding of their environment and find ways to help others identify their own place in the world.

I’m a queer, neurodivergent, chronically ill therapist who believes that therapy is not just about managing symptoms — it’s about reclaiming your voice, your story, and your relationships. My identities are based in the what it means to have others around you that validate but also co-create the world and its purpose.

For fun I am a social dancer and gamer and have a love for animals with weird faces. I love horror movies and jigsaw puzzles. I will start almost any craft and have a massive hoard of supplies that I may or may not ever touch again.

I have been working in mental health officially for 5 years and have taken a special interest in providing Queer Sex Education and Intimacy Work for the past 8 years. I have taught workshops on Shibari and Kink during my career and have taken what I have learned into my work as a couples therapist.

Strong Minds Build Stronger, More Connected Communities

Passion

I bring energy, creativity, and deep care into every session — because I believe healing work deserves to be alive, intentional, and client-driven.

Community

We don't heal in isolation. My work is guided by the belief that our identities, cultures, and communities shape who we are — and they deserve to be honored in therapy.

Commitment

Therapy is a process, not a quick fix. I’m committed to showing up consistently and compassionately, walking alongside you at your own pace.

Growth

Growth isn’t linear — it’s layered, and often nonlinear. I hold space for discomfort, resilience, and the ongoing journey of becoming your fullest self.

Honesty

I offer a space where truth is not only welcomed — it’s respected. Together, we explore hard questions with curiosity, not judgment.

Anti-oppressive

I approach therapy with awareness of how systems like colonialism and patriarchy shape our mental health — and create space to question what no longer serves you.

Your Story Matters. Your Healing Deserves Care That Sees You.

Finding the right therapist is personal. My practice is built on trust, safety, and a belief that therapy should honor your identity, values, and lived experiences.

Affirming & Experienced Care

I specialize in working with LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, chronically ill, and multicultural clients. My approach is grounded in empathy, ongoing training, and lived experience.

Therapy That Adapts to You

No one-size-fits-all. We’ll collaborate to find the methods that fit you — whether that’s storytelling, skills practice, identity work, or deep relational exploration.

Flexible, Online-Only Scheduling

Sessions are 100% virtual, designed to meet you where you are — whether that’s from home, between responsibilities, or while managing health challenges.
